As a non-denominational church, the belief statement of Christ’s Church Rwanda is invaluable. Because of the diversity of cultures and Christian traditions we represent, it is important that we have and follow a set of core Christian beliefs as a church. Our statement provides a summary of biblical beliefs that are in harmony with Scripture and reaffirm important features of the historic Christian faith.
CCR teaches from a biblical perspective that is defined within the belief statement. These beliefs are relevant in the study of God, people, and nature and are applicable to our lives today.
We believe in one God, Creator and Ruler of the universe, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom and powerful beyond measure, He has eternally existed in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The three are coequal and are one God. He is involved in the lives of people, He hears and answers prayer, and because of His great love for us He saves all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s one and only Son, God Himself becoming man. He lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return someday to earth to reign as King.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the Holy Spirit who is present in the world to glorify Christ and to make people aware of their need for Jesus. He provides followers of Christ with comfort in times of distress, power for living a righteous life, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in what is right and wrong. He gives every believer spiritual gifts when they are saved.
We believe that the Bible is God’s Word, that it was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It provides God’s complete plan for the salvation of people. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs about life. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without error and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
We believe people were created to exist forever and that there will be a bodily resurrection. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in God’s presence is Heaven. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence.
We believe in the Church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the Head, and of which all followers of Jesus are members. The Church exists to glorify God and has the task of persuading people to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and give their life to Him.
